Fact or Fiction:
“Cooking cherries eliminates their health benefits.” 🍒🔥
.
.
.
.
Fiction!
While heat can reduce certain nutrients in some foods, cherries hold onto many of their biggest benefits even after cooking. Their antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and polyphenols remain present in baked, roasted, and simmered dishes - meaning cherry pies, sauces, compotes, and crisps are still delivering measurable goodness.
In fact, some studies show that cooking can make certain antioxidant compounds more available to the body. So go ahead and enjoy those warm winter cherry recipes without worry - the flavor isn’t the only thing you’re getting. 🍒✨
