Why does the Pacific Northwest grow such incredible cherries? ππ²βοΈ
It comes down to climate, soil, and geography working together almost perfectly for cherry trees
βοΈ Long, warm summer days help cherries develop natural sweetness and rich color
βοΈ Cool nights... help the fruit maintain firmness and balance sugar levels
π Nutrient-rich volcanic soil throughout parts of the Northwest supports healthy tree growth and fruit quality
π§ Dry climates in many growing regions help reduce disease pressure and create ideal harvest conditions
πΈ Cold winters provide the chill hours cherry trees need in order to properly bloom and produce fruit each season
That combination is a big reason why Northwest cherries are known around the world for their sweetness, size, color, and juicy bite β€οΈ
